Looking Kinda Shady

I found this lamp at the goodwill for $20 bucks. I thought that it had great potential, even though I did not know what to do with it. I knew that I did not like the white shade. It had no color at all.

Here is a close up of the plain white shade.

So one day I just went at it with some acrylic paint. I started mixing the brown, beige and white together.

Then I incorporated some black. At this point I still did not know where I was going with this project. It took on a life of its own.

I added a stencil and painted around it with white paint.

Then I pianted the rim at the top black and added some beads to the bottom to give it some pazazz!

Here it is looking beautiful and unique!

  4. I love what you did with the lamp shade, but I really love those two adorable dolls sitting on the floor. Are they handmade?

  5. Smashing job on the lampshade, this is so perfect. I think I see a lampshade I can do this too.
