I found this lamp at the goodwill for $20 bucks. I thought that it had great potential, even though I did not know what to do with it. I knew that I did not like the white shade. It had no color at all. Here is a close up of the plain white shade.
So one day I just went at it with some acrylic paint. I started mixing the brown, beige and white together.
Then I incorporated some black. At this point I still did not know where I was going with this project. It took on a life of its own.
It is amazing how a project takes shape and can change. It turned out so good!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous transformation!~ It looks so chic with that 'Fleur de lis' motif, the paint 'wash' and the darling and dramatic touches of the beads with the finishinf touch of the black accent at the top of the lamp shade!.., Good for you!

I love what you did with the lamp shade, but I really love those two adorable dolls sitting on the floor. Are they handmade?
ReplyDeleteSmashing job on the lampshade, this is so perfect. I think I see a lampshade I can do this too.
