I'm So Berkey & Gay!

You know how you go to the store for one thing and you end up with something else...well that is exactly what happened here. This piece caught my eye immediately. I knew as soon as I saw it, that it had possibilities.

The legs were sturdy, and the back did not have any flaws. The biggest flaw is at the bottom as you can see in this picture.

My intentions was to bring it home and paint it, but my husband liked it flawed exactly the way it was. He said that it gave this Berkey & Gay character.

This is the seal inside of the top drawer. I also noticed that the second drawer had a slightly different shade to it.

This is some of the damage at the bottom of this piece.

More damage at the bottom.

View of the whole piece.

It worked out well.
And I only paid $50.00
I think I got a little bargain out of this. Let me know if you know anything about Berkey & Gay furniture.

  1. I don't know anything about Berkley and Gay, but I often don't buy things with damage, because I'm not sure what to do with the damage. I'm excited to see what you end up chosing to do with this piece Queen! :o)

It is a beautiful chest of drawers.

  2. Perfect find, you are so blessed to have an eye for this. I think keeping it in its present condition was perfect. We all eventually show age, it character, not imperfections.
